PV maintenance and service for photovoltaic plants
Maximum yield, longest lifespan: regular maintenance, cleaning and performance review for your PV installation.
Why does regular PV maintenance pay off?
Unmonitored photovoltaic plants lose 2–8 % in performance over the years — through soiling, faulty modules, gradual PID damage and ageing inverters. For a 500 kWp plant that translates to ~ € 10,000–40,000 in lost yield per year.
Professional maintenance catches these losses early and costs a fraction of the yield it saves. It also protects your warranty claims — most module and inverter manufacturers require documented maintenance.
Our PV maintenance package
- Visual inspection — modules, cabling, mounting structure, inverter rooms
- Drone thermography — hotspots, PID, micro-cracks (details)
- Electrical measurement — string voltage, insulation resistance, grounding
- Inverter check — firmware, log files, ventilation, wear parts
- Cleaning — gentle dry or wet cleaning with osmotically deionised water
- Monitoring analysis — yield against expected performance
- Vegetation management — shading analysis for ground-mounted plants
- Maintenance protocol — warranty-relevant, court-admissible
Which maintenance — and when?
Annually
Visual check, inverter logs, yield reconciliation. Mandatory for warranty retention with most manufacturers.
Every 2–3 years
Full electrical measurement + drone thermography. We recommend this for plants ≥ 100 kWp.
After events
Hail, storm, fire, lightning strike, vandalism — short-notice inspection for insurance and damage settlement.
Cleaning — when is it really worth it?
Module cleaning is often sold as a blanket service, but isn't always economical. We base our recommendation on:
- Site-specific soiling (agriculture, industry, pollen, nearby construction)
- Roof pitch — flat installations soil 5× faster than steep ones
- Annual precipitation — self-cleaning effect usually sufficient above 800 mm/year
- Before/after yield measurement — cleaning pays back when performance lift exceeds 3 %
We use exclusively demineralised water and soft brushes — no high-pressure, no chemical cleaners (would void warranty).
